The Dynamic Couple with Humble Beginnings

Being together for 25 years and married for 20 years, have made Garry and Kelly form a formidable partnership at home and in their real estate careers. The couple, who come from humble backgrounds, have worked very hard to achieve success for their family and team.

Garry started his working life at 10 years old, when he accompanied his father to be a construction worker. However, he never stopped his education and graduated with a Diploma in Mechatronics. It was during his Polytechnic days, he signed on with the Navy, where he went on to serve as a regular for 6 years. During his time in the Navy, he worked as an Electronics Specialist, earning praise from his Commanding Officer for his discipline and professionalism. Thereafter, Garry started working as a salesperson in a MLM company before joining the real estate industry in 2007.

As for Kelly, her educational background is a Diploma in Computer Engineering. After graduating, she joined DSTA as an Assistant Engineer. As she was not keen in programming, she decided to leave after about 3 years. Then, she started working as a Personal Assistant in a Corporate Communications team. This role provided her skills like being meticulous and planning ahead of time, skills which would be very useful in her real estate career. She liked her role, however, the monthly salary of $1500 was insufficient. Hence, after 8 years she decided to leave and pursue a career that rewarded her financially.

A close friend recommended joining the real estate industry and Kelly decided to take the leap. While Kelly was starting out in the industry, Garry was leading a team of 1200 people in his MLM company. Then, in 2007, Garry decided to join Kelly and bring over some of his MLM colleagues. With their teamwork and respective strengths, Garry and Kelly quickly became a dominant force in real estate.

A Complete Residential Partnership

Honing their Skills and Niche in Asset Progression, adding Value to Home Owners in making "Great Moves"

Garry and Kelly leveraged and focused on their respective strengths to form a complete sales team. Garry focuses on Asset Progression, where he helped clients sell their HDBs and progress into Private Condominiums. Whereas Kelly’s focus is on Resale Private Condominium upgrading and Decoupling. She has helped families sell their Condominiums and purchase new launch Condominiums and landed houses. 

As they advise homeowners to upgrade to their dream residences, Garry and Kelly pay particular attention to their clients’ financial situation. From their experience and knowledge, they are mindful of the fact that homeowners need to have financial flexibility. 

The value-added service that they provide is to share with clients the impact of a potential increase in the client’s Mortgage Service Ratio and Total Debt Servicing Ratio, together with possibility of future changes to the housing loan interest rates. Furthermore, everyone has different financial considerations, hence, Garry and Kelly provide an in-depth analysis and advise their clients accordingly. 

Besides Asset Progression for clients, the Decoupling and investment strategies enable clients to build their assets and wealth for future needs and retirement. Garry and Kelly emphasise on the need for prudent financial planning and the correct timing to invest.

Over the years, clients are grateful to their advice and recommendations, as the value of their homes and investment properties have seen considerable growth, while their families enjoy the living experience of their dream homes.

Garry and Kelly have been consistently recognised for their stellar sales achievements.They have received many awards highlighting their individual sales performance in PropNex. The PropNex management have been appreciative of their contribution in sales and leadership to the organisation, as seen during the awards presentation ceremonies.

The couple are very grateful to all their clients and team members who have placed their trust in their advice and guidance. They aspire to continue delivering their best for their clients, team members and the real estate industry, through hard work and strategically adapting to the dynamic real estate industry.

Top Meritorious Award

During the PropNex Annual Convention 2023, Garry and Kelly had the honour to receive the Top Meritorious Award, which was presented by Minister Indranee Rajah along side Mr Ismail Gafoor and Mr Kelvin Fong.

The prestigious Top Meritorious Award signifies the highest standard of recognition awarded to an individual for their outstanding leadership and selfless contribution to PropNex. Both Garry and Kelly are very grateful to be nominated and to receive the award, which highly recognises their contribution and leadership abilities.

Inspirational Leaders Nurturing Tomorrow's Leaders

Together, Garry and Kelly have trained more than 10000 real estate salespersons. That is almost 1 in 3 agents in Singapore, which is certainly an awesome achievement. Their success in being successful leaders and trainers arises from their personality, experiences and their desire to pass on the necessary mindsets and skillsets to realtors.

Since 2014, Garry and Kelly have been the Chief Trainers for Powerful Negotiators Group’s (PNG) signature programmes. The programmes that they have trained for PNG, include the Sales Bootcamp (SBC), Leadership Bootcamp (LBC) and Advance Bootcamp (ATC). These programmes have been proven to provide PropNex real estate salespersons a unique advantage over their industry peers.

Besides training PropNex colleagues, Garry and Kelly individually train their team members in the Garry Kelly Division, where there are signature training programmes to achieve breakthrough in sales and develop successful leadership styles. Together with their personal guidance and mentoring, realtors have achieved remarkable performances in their personal sales, as well as, built successful teams.

In addition to training PropNex and Garry Kelly Division, Garry is regularly selected to lead and manage new launch sales projects for PropNex. Besides that, Garry is part of PropNex’s EC team, that manages new EC launches. The first EC launch that Garry managed was the Amore at Punggol. Thereafter, he has been managing many new EC and Private launches, including Parc Canberra, Parc Central and Piermont Grand. 

In leading and managing a new launch project, Garry conducts Consumer Engagement Seminars (CES) to prospective clients and internal trainings to the core team and project taggers. In his internal trainings, he coaches the agents on closing and conversions techniques. For the Parc Canberra project, Garry led a team of 350 agents that managed to close about 500 units in less than 1 year. As for the Parc Central project, he led a team of 200 agents, who managed to close majority of the units on offer swiftly.

Garry is known as a charismatic leader, who imparts practical skills that agents can use immediately. He does this by simplifying the approach and understanding of concepts and ideas. To complement their formidable partnership, Kelly is a focused leader, whose meticulous approach enables agents to master important skillsets efficiently. Together, they bring across a well-balanced mindset and skillset development package that manages both the emotional and technical aspects.

Leadership Awards & Achievements

Besides receiving awards for their stellar sales performances, Garry and Kelly regularly receive awards for their leadership achievements and contributions.

In 2021, Garry received the Top Senior Associate Group Director award for multiple months, thereby recognising him as a consistently achieving leader. 

To add on, both Gary and Kelly have received recognition for their management of the  important PNG Power Selling Techniques (PST) programme for PropNex PNG. This module is an important component of the PropNex PNG training syllabus and helps realtors to achieve superior sales techniques.

Garry was featured in an article on The Sunday Times in 2015. To be featured and recognised among thousands of realtors is certainly an honour. The article covers Garry’s journey in the real estate industry from a realtor to a leader.

It is proof of Garry’s commitment, hard work and leadership for his clients and team members. Garry has always placed his clients’ and team members’ needs and requirements first, which has resulted in the success that he has been constantly achieving.

An Early Real Estate Start and Progression into Savvy Investors

At the tender age of 21, Garry made his first property purchase, where he bought a 4 room HDB flat with his parents in Sengkang. Then in 2006, Kelly and him purchased an Executive Apartment and a 1 room condominium unit at Upper Thomson as an investment property. Exercising financial prudence, they made their next investment in 2014, when they purchased a 4 room condominium, which they sold in 2020. Their latest investments have been a unit each at Penrose and Sengkang Grand.

The couple have made sound investment decisions through in-depth research, careful planning and exercising financial prudence. These are the same methods they use for their clients, when deciding on property purchases.

Treasuring Family Together

Garry and Kelly are blessed with 4 sons, who they devote their love and time to. Bonding and spending quality time with the family, despite their busy schedules, is a must for the couple. Holidays and weekends are packed with activities with the boys. 

When there is some free time, Garry, likes to jog and play soccer recreationally. As an avid soccer fan, his favourite player is Ruud Gullit, who in his prime was a player and manager for the powerful English team Chelsea. Garry is inspired by him, as Ruud is a leader who leads by example.

In contrast, Kelly chooses to relax by reading and window shopping. At times, she will attend courses to empower and enrich herself with knowledge, which she hopes to share with her team.
